Combining tradition and modern comfort

The existing Hofstellle Ähling in Borken-Hoxfeld is characterized by its clear structure.

The access road to the courtyard is lined with trees and leads to the main entrance via the lovingly planned front garden down to the last detail.

Due to the upcoming generational change, our office was commissioned to plan an old divider.

In order not to divide up the existing ensemble of residential and outbuildings, the location was deliberately chosen somewhat apart from the existing structures.

As with courtyards and gardens, it was important for the client from the outset to plan the building in a coherent and balanced way down to the last detail.

The result is a residential building that is based on the style of the Dutch country house, but in the process develops a very unique and self-confident look.

The architecture is characterized by a coordinated choice of colors, the use of high-quality materials and a clear commitment to symmetry.

If its language clearly stands out from the existing court, it has enough strength to create its own little wasteland.

The floor plan plays with the special location. With a spacious glass façade, the building thus opens onto the edge of the forest. Due to the south-west orientation, you can enjoy the evening sun on the terrace for a long time.

Ms. Aehling was a special client for our office, who swept us all away with her joy and dedication, but also with her precise idea of the building.
Everyone involved enjoyed translating the clear ideas into built reality.
