Netgo Group's dynamic new base camp in Borken

Not many companies in this region can demonstrate such dynamic growth as the Netgo group of companies.

The logical conclusion was therefore that the company headquarters at the Landwehr in Borken had to be abandoned for reasons of space.

On the opposite side of the city, it was possible to purchase a plot of land from the city in a good transport location, which not only met the current demand for office space, but also had potential for future expansion.

When designing the new building, the design should reflect the characteristics of Netgo: dynamic, determined, modern and open.

In connection with the urban planning desire to set a structural accent at the Weseler Strasse/Weseler Landstraße intersection, a three-storey office building was built, which not only moves from southwest to northeast in terms of basic structure, but also steps down in height to do justice to residential development in the east.

By involving neighbors in several joint discussions at an early stage, it was possible to develop a concept that shows an urban planning presence and at the same time meets the neighborhood's wishes.

The glass façade offers an open and inviting space and creates light-filled interiors. The three-storey building forms the entrance to the city from the west. Public catering is oriented towards the intersection with outdoor areas.

The main body is accessed laterally in the east. An open two-story entrance area on the ground floor provides access to the meeting and training rooms, the first office zones, catering and childcare.

A total of four elevators connect the floors to each other and ensure barrier-free use.

In addition to the above-mentioned areas on the ground floor, there is also an auditorium, workshop and warehouse areas for support and, in the northernmost part of the building, the business incubator of the city of Borken.

On the upper floors, employees can use various office spaces, which have been equipped with different workstations by furniture manufacturer Steelcase.

There is also a company-owned fitness area and other rooms where employees can take a short break from work.

What is the particular advantage of this property?

The concrete-skeleton structure allows the units to be flexibly divided — subsequent room changes — whether individual office or open space — can be implemented at any time.

By moving the ancillary rooms, such as storage areas, sanitary areas and server rooms, into the inner core, the façade can be used freely.

In terms of office space, the Netgo Group has opted for a mix of open-plan and individual offices.

At the heart of the building is certainly the “bonfire” restaurant, which not only provides employees but also the public with balanced and healthy cuisine. The specially developed concept strengthens sitting together and eating together.

The building was given the name “Basecamp” by the group of companies and that is how this new building is lived. It is a point of contact for all Group employees, a starting point for further growth and a new symbol for an innovative, young and successful company.

The construction project secures Borken 150 jobs in the first construction phase and, with the options for the further construction phases, a long-term future and the Netgo Group's stay in Borken.
