It is already a big step out of the old premises of the big city of Essen to the Jägersdyk industrial park in Velen.
While the old location was characterized by the black gold of the Ruhr area, there are now corn and wheat fields in the immediate vicinity.
But with the move, the chemical wholesaler has in no way limited its flexibility and expansion options.
With the location in Velen, you are connected to all important junctions in terms of transport. And by acquiring a larger area in the industrial park, nothing stands in the way of further growth.
From the outset, the talks with the Windhövel and Marburger families were friendly and goal-oriented. Thanks to the experience at the premises in Essen, the building owners were very aware of the requirements of the building.
Modern office spaces should be created, group and individual spaces. Each office should have large window openings so that all employees can experience the beautiful location in the heart of Münsterland.
The managing directors also have balcony areas located in the cantilevered elements of the upper floor.
And during the planning, it also became clear that they rely on teamwork and want to further promote this on the premises as well.
This includes not only the spacious lounge on the ground floor, which extends the outdoor area with a terrace, but also wide corridors for informal communication, meeting places at coffee stations, photocopiers or in the central entrance stairwell, which extends generously over two floors.
On the ground floor, there is also a sports area where employees can run their heads free when necessary — if the surrounding area does not allow the use of outdoor areas due to weather conditions.
The building is characterized by the dark brick façade — certainly a reference to the city of Essen, where Arpadis was founded in 2002. However, the managing directors' offices stand out clearly from this space in terms of material and bring color into play. The glass façade breaks with the massive base and confidently stretches northwest with a view of old farmsteads and fields.
As a company, Arpadis is active in the DACH region, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe as well as Turkey.
Perhaps it is this view of the countryside when you want to relax at the end of a busy day that now stands for the continued success of the company.
